Ready in 45 minutes
Ingredients
1 lb of Ground Beef
1 container of Savoie's Rice dressing Mix (optional)
1 small bag of white rice
2 tbsps of chopped onions
2 tbsps of chopped bell peppers
1 tbsp of chopped parsley
1 tsp of vinegar
Cajun seasonings to taste
Garlic powder to taste
Salt to taste
2 tbsps of Tony Chachere’s brown gravy mix (or any gravy)
Olive oil
Directions
Cooked rice as per directions on the bag. I like to wash rice 3-4 times and add a tsp of vinegar (white or apple cider). The vinegar helps to get rid of more starch and it cooks better. After the rice is cooked, put it to the side.
Coat the bottom of a skillet with olive oil. Once hot add the onions and bell peppers.
After they are soft add the ground beef and stir.
Add cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt, parsley, and stir.
Add Savoie's Dressing mix.
Once the meat is browned add the brown gravy mix and ¼ cup of water and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
The brown gravy helps to add flavor and moisture to the rice.
Add equal parts of rice and ground beef mixture. Mix together in a large bowl.
Taste test and add parsley as garnish.
