Cooking Tip for Spices














Spices play a huge part in turning a good meal into an amazing meal! They come in so many different flavors and textures and can make it time-consuming when trying to figure out the right one to use when cooking. Some also carry major health benefits like turmeric and cumin.


I have a way of cutting the time down when cooking. I decided to put all of my basic spices into one bottle instead of reaching for one after another to dash into the pot. The basics include onion powder, garlic powder, cajun seasoning all, and parsley. These are my basics. You can make this basic bottle catered to your own basics and label it. Have equal parts of all spices or you can add a little bit more, for example, the cayenne if you want it to be a hot blend.


Now once you have your basic blend down, you can start on the good stuff like your spicy blend, sweet and spicy blend, Mexican blend (cumin and chili powder) etc. And label those for example Spice of life, Sweety Pie, Hottie, etc. I personally use sugar and cajun seasonings for my sweet and spicy blend and add to my fries hot out the oven or grease…..yum!


You can reuse spice bottles you already have or purchase some that come with labels. I have a link below for some examples of spice bottles.
